We Know: How to Buy/Rent a Water Cooler

About Water Coolers

The traditional water cooler is wall mounted and provides non-filtered water from a municipal water source. More modern and safer versions feature water that's been treated and is delivered to the location on a regular basis and at the same time the empty bottles are taken away. The latter uses a free-standing design and several kinds are available. Rental is anywhere from $5-$20 per month, depending on the amount of water you receive every month, the type of dispenser and water you choose.

If you'll be renting a water cooler, inquire about what's included with the monthly fee. What do they charge for water delivery beyond your regular monthly amount? If damage occurs to the water cooler, do they replace it at no charge? Is there a fee for cancellation of service? Is there a discount for supplying your own water cooler stand and just have the water delivered?
